Leaders of World Curling Federation and Organizing Committee for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games Conducted Field Visit to Beijing National Aquatics Center
On July 5, accompanied by leaders of related departments of Organizing Committee for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Leif Ohman (Technical Advisor to World Curling Federation and Technical Delegate of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games) and Hans Wuthrich (Chief Icemaker of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games) conducted field visit to Beijing National Aquatics Center. Both parties profoundly exchanged views on technical needs of curling events.
This was the first-ever visit made by individual international sports federation for curling tournament venue of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games after China’s successful bid for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The guests visited the siting places for tournaments and warm-up training and related facility rooms, listened to scheme presentations from principal leaders of Beijing National Aquatics Center and experts, made in-depth technical communication in terms of venue structure conversion, temperature control, dehumidification, acoustic echo and other requirements, and set forth venue renovation directions and initiatives. World Curling Federation spoke highly of great efforts of Beijing National Aquatics Center in transformation and scientific research, and expressed the wish to work together in the future and make progress in transformation and construction of the Winter Games venues.
