National Speed Skating Stadium Showed “Ice Ribbon”, and BSAM Fulfilled Preliminary Work under High Standards
On April 25, 2017, design program for National Speed Skating Stadium, which follows design concept of “Ice Ribbon”, was officially unveiled. With the support of Beijing’s municipal authorities, BSAM, on behalf of government investor, assumed a series of preliminary work, successively handled Letter on Preliminary Work of Construction of National Speed Skating Stadium Project, Letter on Land Use Boundary Situation of National Speed Skating Stadium, Letter on Planning Advice for National Speed Skating Stadium Project and other procedures, launched construction tendering and supervision tendering for precipitation, earthwork and slope protection of National Speed Skating Museum, decided on constructers and supervisors of precipitation, earthwork and slope protection projects, and laid a foundation for project inception and earthwork construction. At the same time, BSAM has started to launch tendering for Chinese design team. It is expected that BSAM will decide on Chinese design team in the late May 2017, and start to advance specific design.
Subsequently, BSAM will strive for the goal of “Wonderful, Extraordinary and Excellent Winter Olympics”, mobilize design teams and construction teams of National Speed Skating Stadium, learn from domestic and foreign advanced experience, strengthen technology accumulation and technological innovation, and put the Olympic concept of “Green, Sharing, Open and Clean” into practice. At the same time, BSAM will pay equal attention to post-Games transformation and utilization, vigorously make progress in in-depth program design, construction and other tasks, and complete the construction project of National Speed Skating Stadium under high standards and for top quality. In this regard, BSAM will make National Speed Skating Stadium a multi-purpose venue which can not only be used for international skating, ice hockey and curling competitions, but also be used for general people’s ice sports. Repeated use, comprehensive use and long-term use of this venue can be achieved in this way.
